Principal’s Message

It was wonderful to see so many families at our 4th grade Games Night this week. Thank you to everyone who attended. A huge thank you to the PTO for sponsoring this event.

Picture day is TUESDAY. Please see this flyer for more information.

Next week is also our Start with Hello Week. Please see this flyer for information. Tuesday is dress to impress.

Our fall MAP dates are 9/29 (Reading MAP), 9/30 (Math MAP). Please be sure to send your students to school with charged Chromebooks. A reminder will be sent out before the assessment. Please remember this is a great way for our staff to understand student needs, as well as readiness for upcoming skills. Please encourage your student to take their time and make them, you and us proud of their performance.

Chorus Sign up Information and Registration

Mrs. Maroon would like to share that 4th Grade Chorus is going to start on Thursday, Sept. 24 and 5th Grade Chorus will start on Tuesday, Sept. 29.  To read more about the chorus program and to register your singer, please click here

A request from Mrs. Maroon

Hi Stony Brook Families!  An unusual request I know, but if anyone has extra of the cleaning cloths that you receive when you get a new pair of glasses, I could put about 25 of them to good use for my orchestra students.  Please send them in with your student as it would be very helpful!  Thank you!

A group of former students, working on their Girl Scout Bronze Award, dedicated a Buddy Bench to Stony Brook this week. They built, decorated, and sealed this amazing bench to remind students that everyone can use a friend. Flyers were hung around the school and an announcement was shared with our students this morning. Thank you to Arina, Moksha, Gabriella and Violet for thinking about Stony Brook and for positively impacting our school culture.

A group of four Girl Scouts and two adults proudly pose behind a colorful painted bench that reads "Friendship Grows on Our Buddy Bench".

The 4-H program is for youth ages kindergarten- grade 13; and designed to help them explore their passions, grow as leaders, and contribute to their communities. The Open House for Somerset County 4-H is Thursday, September 24th, from 6:30 - 8 PM.  Flyer

School Reminders

Parent Drop Off and Pick Up I need your help! Once you have dropped your student off, please exit the line so that we can keep all cars moving and get our students in the school as efficiently as possible. Once the buses have exited the front parking lot, cars can pull into the front lot, but must park parallel along the sidewalk. Please DO NOT pull up facing the building. Cars can pull up toward the front entrance, let their student exit on the sidewalk, and then pull forward and out. We have seen far too many close calls with potential accidents recently. Thank you very much for your assistance.

Dismissal Changes Please be sure to share changes to dismissal information with both your student’s homeroom teacher and SBSoffice@branchburg.k12.nj.us. This ensures that all students are dismissed correctly and allows us to ensure student safety. All absences, tardies, and early dismissals should continue to be entered in Genesis.

Spirit Day Every Friday is Spirit Day!  Please have your child wear spiritwear or school colors - blue and white!

Sneakers

Sneakers are needed each day for recess.  My recommendation is for our students to wear sneakers every day. If they choose to wear other footwear, please be sure that they bring a pair of sneakers with them to school each day. Alternate activities will be used for students who do not have the correct shoes on.

PTO & BEF

Please support our amazing PTO (Branchburg PTO) and BEF.  With their support, we can accomplish amazing things at Stony Brook. Please visit our website via this link for the latest updates from the BEF on their efforts to support our district.
