Principal’s Message
We had a fun-filled week, wrapping up with Field Day for everyone and the 5th-grade celebration. Our staff does an amazing job to make the field day such a fun experience with something for everyone! Thank you to the PTO for the amazing 5th-grade celebration activities. We appreciate the help of our classroom parents who joined us for the celebration, as well as those who came to help out with ice-pop distribution. We are so grateful for the hard work of our PTO and parents!
Our week began with summer reading assemblies presented by the Somerset County Library System and its librarians. They spoke to our students about the SCLS and the Summer Reading Challenge program they are running.
The next two weeks are extremely busy as we wrap up the year. Please see the list below: 6/10: 5th-grade math placement test. 6/10: Talent Show during the day for the school and another performance at 6 pm for the community.
6/10, 6/11, 6/15 & 6/16: 4th-grade end-of-year parties. Thank you, parents! 6/15: Flag Day Spectacular. Join us for a day celebrating Flag Day! This is an outdoor performance from 9:30-10:15. 6/17: 5th-grade Clap Out - outside in front of the school - 12 pm. Parents are able to join us for this event. If students will be going home with their parents after the event, this must be noted in Genesis. All students will need to be signed out by a guardian.
5th Grade Parents: Please see the email from Dr. Stanton regarding music selection for next year. Everyone needs to submit this information in order to complete scheduling for 6th grade.
All early dismissals need to be entered into Genesis. This helps us make sure all parties are aware of dismissal information.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Daily Snack(s) We need your help with packing daily snacks. We have emergency snacks in the office for when a student occasionally forgets their snack, but we are quickly running out of those emergency snacks at this time. Please be sure to pack a snack or two for your student each day that they can enjoy during snack time. Thank you.
Parent Drop Off and Pick Up I need your help! Once you have dropped your student off, please exit the line so that we can keep all cars moving and get our students in the school as efficiently as possible. Once the buses have exited the front parking lot, cars can pull into the front lot, but must park parallel along the sidewalk. Please DO NOT pull up facing the building. Cars can pull up toward the front entrance, let their student exit on the sidewalk, and then pull forward and out. We have seen far too many close calls with potential accidents recently. Thank you very much for your assistance.
Dismissal Changes Please be sure to share changes to dismissal information with both your student’s homeroom teacher and SBSoffice@branchburg.k12.nj.us. This ensures that all students are dismissed correctly and allows us to ensure student safety.
Spirit Day Every Friday is Spirit Day! Please have your child wear spirit wear or school colors - blue and white! Free and Reduced Lunch ApplicationsA friendly reminder, the free/reduced lunch application must be re-submitted each year and does not automatically renew. A copy of the application can be found on our district website at: https://www.branchburg.k12.nj.us/student-lunch-forms

Sneakers
Sneakers are needed each day for recess. My recommendation is for our students to wear sneakers every day. If they choose to wear other footwear, please be sure that they bring a pair of sneakers with them to school each day. Alternate activities will be used for students who do not have the correct shoes on.
