  • If your student misses all or part of the test, they will be scheduled for a makeup test.
  • Any student who arrives late to school will not be allowed to join a test that is already in progress and will have to make up the test at another time.  Please ensure that your students arrive at school on time on testing days.
  • All students need to have headphones or earbuds for the NJSLA-A assessment as there will be times when students will need to see and listen to a multimedia portion of the assessment.  We are requesting that each student bring their own headphones or earbuds. The headphones must be wired, as wireless are not allowed for testing purposes.  Backup headphones may be available for those students who do not have their own.
  • Please be sure that your student comes to school well-rested and has a good breakfast each morning.
  • No homework will be given during the testing days.

The NJSLA-A is aligned to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards, as is our school’s curriculum, so there is no need to study or practice for the assessment.

Please speak with your students about doing their personal best on this assessment.  This assessment provides important information for this year's and next year’s teachers.  All of our students should be extremely proud of the work they have done this year.  They have each grown individually, and this assessment presents the opportunity for each student to demonstrate that growth.

Sincerely,

Kristen Kries
