Principal’s Message

Dear Stony Brook Families,

Principal’s Message

Our last group of safety patrollers took their posts this week. This has been a great addition to our school community. I am proud of our 5th graders for volunteering to be role models and for helping their peers remember our expectations.  Thank you to group 2 for a job well done.

A diverse group of students proudly hold up certificates of recognition in a school hallway.

This week, we celebrated our Paraprofessionals as their day of recognition happened over spring break. These ladies bring so much joy to our school. They build relationships with so many of our students and positively impact our school community. We are so lucky to have these ladies as a part of our school family.

Our Spring Choir Concert is next Tuesday (4/21) at 6:30 in our all-purpose room.

Ms. Rueger will also be celebrated at a banquet on Tuesday for being recognized as a Teacher Who Makes Magic!

Yearbook sales have been extended!  The cost is $20, and the flyer and ordering link can be found here.

We hope to see many of our students at the Color Pop Dance tonight at BCMS. Thank you to the PTO for hosting this fun event.

Have a wonderful weekend!

**Please see the information below about the upcoming Chorus Concert from Mrs. Maroon**

School Reminders

Daily Snack(s) We need your help with packing daily snacks. We have emergency snacks in the office for when a student occasionally forgets their snack, but we are quickly running out of those emergency snacks at this time. Please be sure to pack a snack or two for your student each day that they can enjoy during snack time. Thank you.

Parent Drop Off and Pick Up I need your help! Once you have dropped your student off, please exit the line so that we can keep all cars moving and get our students in the school as efficiently as possible. Once the buses have exited the front parking lot, cars can pull into the front lot, but must park parallel along the sidewalk. Please DO NOT pull up facing the building. Cars can pull up toward the front entrance, let their student exit on the sidewalk, and then pull forward and out. We have seen far too many close calls with potential accidents recently. Thank you very much for your assistance.

Dismissal Changes Please be sure to share changes to dismissal information with both your student’s homeroom teacher and SBSoffice@branchburg.k12.nj.us. This ensures that all students are dismissed correctly and allows us to ensure student safety.

Spirit Day Every Friday is Spirit Day!  Please have your child wear spiritwear or school colors - blue and white!
Free and Reduced Lunch Applications

A friendly reminder, the free/reduced lunch application must be re-submitted each year and does not automatically renew. A copy of the application can be found on our district website at: https://www.branchburg.k12.nj.us/student-lunch-forms

Sneakers

Sneakers are needed each day for recess.  My recommendation is for our students to wear sneakers every day. If they choose to wear other footwear, please be sure that they bring a pair of sneakers with them to school each day. Alternate activities will be used for students who do not have the correct shoes on.

PTO & BEF

Please support our amazing PTO (Branchburg PTO) and BEF.  With their support, we can accomplish amazing things at Stony Brook. Please visit our website via this link for the latest updates from the BEF on their efforts to support our district.

The PTO’s spiritwear sale is on-going and is another opportunity to help support them.
