Principal’s Message

Dear Stony Brook Families,

Next week is our Week of Respect.  Each day will focus on a different theme, as noted on this flyer.

Through a generous grant from the BEF, Stony Brook Students will be visiting Whiton for an assembly on October 13th at Whiton.  In order for your child to attend the assembly, this  Google form must be filled out by Thursday, October 9th. Your student cannot attend the trip if we do not receive this form filled out. Thank you for your help with this. This assembly is occurring right after the Week of Respect and is focused on how we can ensure respect for all members of our community. Thank you to the BEF for their support of this program.

Our 5th-grade safety patrol will be kicking off soon. We had 75 students volunteer for this program. All interested students will be split into three groups and will serve for a portion of the year. Parents of students will be emailed so that families are aware when their student is on duty. We are so excited to bring this leadership opportunity to SBS.

Intramurals start next week for those who were interested. If your student was selected through the lottery process, the advisors reached out to those students individually. I just wanted to share that the program looks a little different from last year. The intramural program runs from 3:20-4:20.  All students must have family-provided transportation, as no late bus is available. If you are changing your students' dismissal procedure from intramurals, the advisors and SBS office must be notified. Their email addresses can be found below.

Special Area Newsletter

Important Reminders

Sneakers are needed each day for recess.  My recommendation is for our students to wear sneakers every day. If they choose to wear other footwear, please be sure that they bring a pair of sneakers with them to school each day. Alternate activities will be used for students who do not have the correct shoes on.

Please be sure to share changes to dismissal information with both your student’s homeroom teacher and SBSoffice@branchburg.k12.nj.us. This ensures that all students are dismissed correctly and allows us to ensure student safety.

PaySchools

If you are interested in what your student is purchasing during lunch, you can access this information in PaySchools..  This can help you understand how often your student is purchasing lunch and/or snacks and help monitor their account balance. Log in to your account or create a new account here.

PTO & BEF

Please support our amazing PTO (Branchburg PTO)and BEF.  With their support, we can accomplish amazing things at Stony Brook. Please visit our website via this link for the latest updates from the BEF on their efforts to support our district.

The PTO’s spiritwear sale is on-going and is another opportunity to help support them.
