Principal’s Message

Dear Stony Brook Families,

We had another great week at SBS. I held our first Parents as Partners Pack Chat last week to collect feedback from our families regarding transitions in and out of Stony Brook. We talked about how our core values guide the way we speak with students about the choices they make. Using this shared language helps everyone understand the same expectations and ensures our values are visible and consistent throughout our school community. Lastly, I shared a flow chart that helps our school community understand the work that was done with our Code of Conduct this summer. More information will be coming regarding updates to the Code of Conduct soon. Our next meeting is scheduled for December 1st. Please consider joining us for that meeting.

Thank you to all of our 4th-grade students and their families who attended our 4th-grade games night last week. We had a large turnout and it was wonderful to see our newest students enjoying some extra fun at Stony Brook. Thank you to the PTO and the amazing volunteers who helped make this event a huge success.

Please be sure to reach out at any time if your student needs additional support. Your student’s teacher is a great place to start, but reaching out to Ms. Och, our guidance counselor, or me is always an option as well. We look forward to your continued partnership in meeting all of our students’ needs.

Reminder that our school is closed tomorrow. We wish a Happy Rosh Hashanah to all who are celebrating.

Warm regards,

Important Reminders

Sneakers are needed each day for recess.  My recommendation is for our students to wear sneakers every day. If they choose to wear other footwear, please be sure that they bring a pair of sneakers with them to school each day. Alternate activities will be used for students who do not have the correct shoes on.

Please be sure to share changes to dismissal information with both your student’s homeroom teacher and SBSoffice@branchburg.k12.nj.us. This ensures that all students are dismissed correctly and allows us to ensure student safety.

PaySchools Review

If you are interested in what your student is purchasing during lunch, you can access this information in PaySchools..  This can help you understand how often your student is purchasing lunch and/or snacks and help monitor their account balance. Log in to your account or create a new account here.

PTO Fundraisers & BEF

Please support our amazing PTO (Branchburg PTO)and BEF.  With their support, we can accomplish amazing things at Stony Brook. Please visit our website via this link for the latest updates from the BEF on their efforts to support our district.

The PTO is starting their spiritwear sale and this is another opportunity to help support them.

**Do you have any games, puzzles, Play-Doh, or craft items you no longer need? We will gladly take them off your hands for our soft start program. Please let me know if you have any questions.**
