Principal’s Message

Dear Stony Brook Families,

Thank you to all the parent volunteers who facilitated a lot of fun for today’s classroom parties. We appreciate all the work that goes into these plans, and our students love them.

Did you know that Mrs. Debraski has been hosting author chats with our students? Today’s author chat was none other than R.L. Stine. Our students got to hear about which book he thought was the scariest and how long it takes him to write his novels. Thank you, Mrs. Debraski, for setting up these wonderful experiences for our students.
Next week, we have single-session days on Monday and Tuesday. We look forward to sharing your students' progress with you during our conferences next week.

There will be a community forum for our Superintendent Search.  Read more about it here.

STUDENTS CAN SUBMIT TEACHER AND EDUCATIONAL SPECIALIST OF THE YEAR NOMINATIONS! Please take some time and use the link below to fill out the nomination form. Please use this link to access information regarding the Teacher and Educational Services Professional of the Year nominations. We need the community's support for this program. Please encourage your students to submit nominations as well. The more information you provide in your nomination the better. Thank you for taking some time to do this.

Our Special Area Teachers have been busy! Use this link for the November Special Area Newsletter.

The staff at SBS wishes all our families a safe, happy, and fun-filled Halloween! Enjoy your weekend.

Important Reminders
Book Fair Information

A colorful display of books is arranged for a Scholastic Book Fair. The book fair will be held from November 10th through the 17th. To set up an e-wallet for your student, please use this flyer. If you would like to volunteer during your students' library time, please use this linkhttps://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0D4CABAE23A4FE3-59178456-2025

Sneakers

Sneakers are needed each day for recess.  My recommendation is for our students to wear sneakers every day. If they choose to wear other footwear, please be sure that they bring a pair of sneakers with them to school each day. Alternate activities will be used for students who do not have the correct shoes on.

Dismissal Changes Please be sure to share changes to dismissal information with both your student’s homeroom teacher and SBSoffice@branchburg.k12.nj.us. This ensures that all students are dismissed correctly and allows us to ensure student safety.

We are participating in a service learning project this year, Hope for Veterans, collecting personal care items. This collection will conclude on November 10th. Please see this flyer for full details.

Free and Reduced Lunch Applications

A friendly reminder, the free/reduced lunch application must be re-submitted each year and does not automatically renew. A copy of the application can be found on our district website at: https://www.branchburg.k12.nj.us/student-lunch-forms
